Praise Week – “Jacob’s Ladder”

Spread the love

What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?

The latest original by Praise Nation PGH, “Jacob’s Ladder.”

The story of Jacob’s ladder is found in Genesis 28:12. Jacob dreams of a magnificent ladder that is set up on earth and reaches to heaven on top. Jacob witnesses angels traveling up and down the ladder making their way to earth and back to heaven. He then sees the Lord standing above, who says to Jacob “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac.

Every time we go to Mass we can see angels descending upon the altar and ascending to Heaven. During Mass, we are united with all the Church both on earth and in Heaven in celebration of the Eucharist and praise to our Lord God.

“I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!” Psalm 34:2-4

  1. As a Catholic, it didn’t really seem that there was a lot of contemporary art expressing the beauty of the central tenant of our faith, Jesus in the Eucharist. It is an honor to be able to express that beauty, and to acknowledge His unending sacrificial Love for us.
