I prayed long over what song should follow Divine Mercy Sunday.
“Let the weak, sinful soul have no fear to approach Me, for even if it had more sins than there are grains of sand in the world, all would be drowned in the unmeasurable depths of My mercy.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1059
“When God Ran” came to heart. The cross and empty tomb are visible signs of a time God ran to you. He came down from Heaven, climbed up in the cross after taking a punishment beyond understanding, then walked from the tomb for you.
It may catch you by surprise, but. Jesus didn’t just do this for the world and aching mankind, He did this all for you. He ‘ran’ down that long dusty road to pull you from your knees and embrace you. He wrapped His arms around you, leprous sinner with a scarlet dark soul. He came running to your side that He may heal you, make your soul new and welcome you home as His son or daughter.
He is just waiting for the day that you turn from the road of sin, turn around to look back towards the home you ran from so long ago…He is running to you that your tears may be wiped away and He can give you a kiss, with tears in His Holy eyes, proclaiming, “My son has come home!”
I’m crying as I listen to this song in the light of Divine Mercy and struggling to write this post for the tears rolling down my face. God ran to me, took me in His arms, held me head to His chest, said “My son, you’ve come home.” He lifted my face as I son into His chest, wipes the tears from my face, with Divine Mercy in His voice, He says, “My son, I love you.” I look from the cross to His Holy eyes and know, He truly does love me. The tears roll again, I’d fall to me knees but, He lifts me back into His embrace.
Turn from the dark path of sin, back to the road of faith and be healed.
“I am not alone, because Jesus is with me, and with Him I fear nothing….My Jesus, my strength and my only hope, in You alone is all my hope.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 746
