What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?
“You please Me most when you meditate on My Sorrowful Passion.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1512
This may seem a strange song of praise to start our week but, we do praise the sacrifice and passion of Jesus each and every time we meditate upon them. Jesus, Himself, is clear that we need to focus on His Passion, not just in Lent or on Good Friday, but every day.
Deep and constant meditation upon the passion and crucifixion, upon the wounds of Jesus, call to mind not only the torturous murder of Jesus and our part in His passion, but, brings about the Divine Mercy of God. Despite the wounds we’ve inflicted from our denials and sins, the Father withholds punishment at the cry or Jesus. We are covered in His Precious Blood flowing from His pierced Sacred Heart.
So, yes. Focusing upon this great love is a show of our praise.
“Remember My Passion, and if you do not believe My words, at least believe My wounds.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 378
“Jesus told me that I please Him best by meditating on His sorrowful Passion, and by such meditation much light falls upon my soul.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 267
“The contemplation of My painful wounds is of great profit to you, and it brings Me great joy.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 369
““Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you, sing praise to your name!” Psalm 67:4
Yes, I have a tendency to meditate on HIs Sorrowful Passion during lent but then forget to meditate on the Passion during the rest of the church year. thank you for the reminder. Have a blessed day.
Yes, I’m guilty of not meditating on the Passion after Easter. Thank you for the reminder to do so. It would be a good idea to pray the Stations of the Cross for the whole year.
Yes! Focus on the Passion of Jesus. Look at what He suffered for you. Look upon the pillar and see the scourging love brought upon Him for you. Look upon the crown and know He wore it to crown you His child. Look upon the cross and know His love – the depth of His love for you
