Praise Monday – Shepherd Me O’ Lord

Spread the love

“He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me” Psalm 50:23

“God desires me to allow myself to be guided entirely by the Holy Spirit. My life should be a continuous praise of love. I should lose myself in God and always contemplate Him without ever losing sight of Him.” St Teresa of the Andes

What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?

Praise Nation PGH presents this week’s Praise Monday. From my home parish at St. Therese in Munhall, this is a beautifully prayerful song.

Anyone who has read my blog (www.theroadoffaith.net) or my book (I Knew His Voice), or heard my story knows how special to me is the Shepherd image of God.

When I was lost and crying onto the dark night for all the early decades of my life, wandered far from His flock – the Shepherd Jesus protected me from the wildest and most deadly wolves and came to find me at huge cost to Himself. He carried me home. During deepest struggles, wolves surrounding me during my daughter’s illness, the Shepherd came to me through her and gave me courage to face the darkness. When I fell during my daughter’s illness, wandering into a self-imposed dark night, the Shepherd came through the night to find me and lead me home.

My book is based on the Good Shepherd. So many days of my Road of Faith journey are being led by the Good Shepherd Himself.

“My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”” John 10:27-30

““Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you, sing praise to your name!” Psalm 67:4

“I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!” Psalm 34:2-4
