“What is it you want of Me?” “Lord, I want to see!”
Imagine having your sight healed after a lifetime of blindness and the first sight is Jesus standing before you. Talk about reason to give God praise!
This ‘sight’ and blindness goes beyond the physical. Many are spiritually blind. I understand deeply the joy of this man. For my whole life, I had been spiritually blind. Then, Jesus drew near. Finally I knew I needed Him and only He could heal my blindness. I knelt there that night and cried out, “Lord, open my eyes!” And, Jesus immediately healed me. The first sight my new eyes beheld was Jesus in His glory. From that day I have followed Him and praised God.
“He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” The people in front rebuked him and ordered him to be silent, but he only shouted all the louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!” Jesus stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. And when he had come near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” He answered, “Lord, let me receive my sight.” Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God.” Luke 18:38-43
