Praise Monday – “On Earth as it is in Heaven”

Spread the love

What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?

We greatly praise God when we strive for His Will to be done in our lives as it is in Heaven.

We pray the Lord’s Prayer often, hopefully at least daily. But, do we just blow through the words because they are so regular and known to us that we don’t even listen as we pray? I know many times I have found myself doing just this. I say the words of the Lord’s Prayer as I enter into the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and risk not hearing what the Lord Jesus said as He taught this prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer taught directly from the mouth of the Lord Himself gives us arguably the greatest prayer in Christiandom. He shows us that first and foremost our praise needs to rise to God. Only He is worthy of praise, only He is worth our praise. Then, the Lord calls our focus upon desiring God’s Divine Will to be present and fully the focus of our life.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

Emphasis on Thy Will, God’s Will be done. God reigns supreme in Heaven and upon earth. We need to stop next time we say the Lord’s Prayer and think through each intercessory line, especially focusing on these words – “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.”

Think in your heart as you pray these words – “Thy Will be done in my life…”

Each time you say these words, focus upon God’s praise and God’s Divine Will in your life, as it is in Heaven.

Be sure to pray these words several times each day as a lesson in surrender and abandonment.

Join the nation of praise! Add your voice to the choir. Share with others! Let us all join in a song of praise.

“I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
    let the afflicted hear and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me,
    and let us exalt his name together!” Psalm 34:2-4
