Praise Monday – O’ Holy Night

Spread the love

One of, if not my top favorite Christmas song is O’ Holy Night.

Maybe it is because it feels like the angels are signing it to me each time I hear the lyrics?

Long lay the world in sin and error pining,

I sat so much of my life in sin and darkness. Deep within, my soul felt no value. Hope and despair were at the top of my heart if not my mind. Then…one fateful night, long in darkness, despair and fear, I heard the call.

Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!

That night, I did just that…. And, I swear I have heard the angel choirs singing joyous hymns.

Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother, and in His name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, let all within us praise His holy name.

As this King Savior has taught me His Gospel of love and of Divine Mercy, my song of praise grows louder and stronger. The joyous song of my soul becomes more bold.

let all within us praise His holy name.

Christ is the Lord!

O praise His name forever!

His pow’r and glory evermore proclaim!
