“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12
“He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me” Psalm 50:23
What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?
This is a fun, hand clapping song for a Monday morning.
The lyrics can really hit you. I often look to God and ask why He would have chosen me for anything in His Kingdom, let alone an evangelist. Let me list the reason why He should have selected anyone else – I’m an overwhelming introvert, I spent three decades of my life separated from Him, not just a sinner but one who spit in His face and denied Him for most of my life – the list can go on. As am introvert, I found it so hard to speak to anyone outside my friends and comfort – strangers were an impossible hurdle.
So, why would God pick me for these tasks? To show His glory. I am nobody who should be standing as His voice. But, when I do the things I’ve done, to God alone be the glory. When I’d step out ‘on stage’, it is His power that takes that step. When I share my story, it isn’t a catechist but just me. My story leans on God like David coming to the sword fight with a stone.
God picks nobodies in the world to show the value He holds for these souls, The world may see me as nothing but God sees me as everything. To God you are the most valuable possession. God wants you to be His voice because there is somebody who will be able to listen and hear you because you are simply who you are.
The refrain is my story – “I’m just a nobody trying to tell everybody
All about Somebody who saved my soul
Ever since You rescued me, You gave my heart a song to sing
I’m living for the world to see nobody but Jesus
Tell everybody about the Somebody Who saved you. God has called you to tell His story through your life – it’s that simple. You don’t have to be a pope, priest or deacon, you don’t have to be famous – ‘nobody’ works great in God’s hands. ‘Nobody’ with a story to hear.
““Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you, sing praise to your name!” Psalm 67:4
