I was lost, deep in the darkness of myself, of my sin. I was doomed, condemned. Myself the strongest witness to this verdict. I was so lost that I didn’t even know I was lost. I didn’t realize my feet were on the path to Hell.
That’s when Mercy found me. I wasn’t looking for Him, but He came for me. His cross held high like a beacon in the night, Jesus came looking for me. I could never understand how much He loves me to make this trek to the gates of Hell, just for me. As I write this, I am overwhelmed again by Mercy.
