Recently at Mass, the priest mentioned this song in his homily.
The words of this song are striking. The world wants its agenda to be yours. Destruction of Biblical truths like marriage between one man and one woman, the fullness of the Eucharist in Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus, and more. This agenda pushes one to accept its self given truths or be condemned. As Catholics this should mean we stand against the world, for Jesus.
“Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division; for henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three; they will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against her mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Luke 12:51-54
We stand in the truth, for the truth. Against the world and at times against friends and family. In this, we must take up the cross of Christ and walk with Him.
