“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12
“He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me” Psalm 50:23
What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?
Do you ever spend time thinking about the moment you will be before God? Seeing Jesus, face to face and in the flesh?
I will often sit and meditate upon this moment.
What will I do? Will I fall to my knees? Cry? Shout Alleluia at the top of my voice, of simply whisper, “my Lord and my God”?
I’ve imagined this moment many times. And, in each, I fall to my knees, unworthy to be before Him let alone stand in His Holy Presence. I know my sin, I know deep within I’ve earned nothing less than His wrathful judgment. But, I’m each of my visions, I don’t witness wrath or anger. Always, always, Jesus grabs my arms, lifts me to my feet and with tears in HIS eyes, wraps me in a deep, warm hug, whispering. “My son, welcome home.” Just typing this now brings tears to my eyes.
Spend time today, and often, thinking of this moment. The moment when you close your eyes on earth and open them a blink later before Heaven’s gates will be spectacular. But, the first time your eyes fall upon Jesus…. No words can describe. Will you fall in tears of joy or maybe you’ll rush across the room jumping into His embrace.
I can only imagine. But someday I will see Jesus and know His Mercy enveloped me always. I will know, I am home in His arms and Sacred Heart.
“Praise the LORD, my soul! I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live.” Psalm 146:1-2
““Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you, sing praise to your name!” Psalm 67:4
