Praise Monday – Hosea, Come Back to Me)

Spread the love

God’s greatest desire this Lent is for you, who are distant, to come back to His side.

Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity” – Hosea 14:1

If you’ve been wandering, alone, away from God, whether in a dark night of your life or through a moment of struggle. Even if you are searching and desiring a deeper relationship with God, this one strike a chord in the soul.

The wilderness will lead you
to your heart where I will speak.

I wandered for over fifteen years after I left home. I wanted my life and my ‘joys’. But, always somewhere in the distant background, God called.

Long have I waited for your coming
home to me and living deeply our new life.

The Father patiently waited for me to come home. But, He didn’t sit back wondering what I’d do. God actively sought me out. He sent His Spirit many times to bolster my guardian Angel and block entry points that could have destroyed me. Jesus kept seeking His lost black sheep. Though I was covered in sin so much as to be unrecognizable, He came through the terrifying world I created and in which I was lost. He ‘found’ me alone, crying at my dad’s funeral…and for the first time ever – I heard His voice calling. My head came up and eyes searched for the sound. God patiently waited for me to turn around…

Then, dirty and unrecognizable as I was enwrapped in my sin…He welcomed me home. Now, cleaned up, I look like a child of God again…and He is my joy.

You shall sleep secure with peace;
faithfulness will be your joy.
