Praise Monday – Ghost

Spread the love

“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12

“He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me” Psalm 50:23

What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?

It’s Halloween and I sit here praying against the world’s worship of this day. So many rejoice in the “playful” occult hoping to get candy and have fun. Fun and the occult do not go together in any way. The occult and all ties to it are pure evil and meant to draw you away from God. Period.

Halloween today is a purely pagan celebration. But, Jesus shows His power and mercy over this as He does over death itself. On 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day. This begins the observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the departed. This is a time to remember Christ’s victory over death, not to celebrate death and the occult.

So, I sat here trying to think of a Praise Monday song for Halloween and MercyMe’s ‘Ghost’ comes to mind in my song list. The Holy Spirit is certainly one Ghost we can honor on this day. The Holy Ghost overcomes all horrors the enemy can bring against us on this day or any day. Invite this Ghost into your heart, allow the Holy Ghost to dwell within your soul.

““Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you, sing praise to your name!” Psalm 67:4

Come, Holy Ghost, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.

V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created;
R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray. O God who didst instruct the hearts of Thy faithful by the light of the Holy Ghost, grant that, by the same Spirit, we may be truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
