“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12
“He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me” Psalm 50:23
What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God? And on this Pentecost Monday, let’s praise and call upon the fire of the Holy Spirit!!!
“Come Holy Spirit, Let Your Fire Fall” is a song that always brings tears to my eyes. Whenever I hear or think of this song, I am instantly taken to our men’s Emmaus Retreats. There is little that can top hearing 50-70 men sing these words at the top of their voice and the peak of their joy.
If you are in the Pittsburgh PA area and want to experience the Holy Spirit and draw closer and more deeply into Christ Jesus, let me know. An Emmaus retreat is a great way to do it. There are both men’s and women’s retreats done throughout the Pittsburgh area multiple times each year and I can get you in touch with the right people to give you information about their retreats.
Emmaus is more than a retreat weekend though. If you choose to pursue beyond those 48 hours, you can find brothers (and sisters) in Christ that will hold you to the fire, uplift you when needed and mutually guide each other to surrendering to God. I gave these retreats 20 out of 5 stars. Emmaus changed the course of my eternity – it can change yours. Even if you’re already on the road.
“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit” Acts of the Apostles 2:1-4
COME HOLY SPIRIT, LET YOUR FIRE FALL!!!
“I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!” Psalm 34:2-4
