Praise Monday – Call to Worship

Spread the love

“I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart and glorify your name for ever” Psalm 86:12

What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?

And what better then to have a praise song about praising? Praise is a great form of prayer. It lifts the burdens of the world from one’s shoulders by focusing your whole heart and mind upon Jesus Christ. Despite belief to the contrary, no one can multitask. No one is capable of doing many things at the same time – or even two things. Yes, some can flip through tasks quickly and make it look like they are multitasking but they aren’t. This is the same with praise. When we are focused upon our song of praise with eyes closed and hands lifted high, we can’t focus on the pressure and burdens of life.

As we celebrate Christmas and the coming of our Immanuel, make a commitment to spend the five minutes of one song lifting your soul (and voice) in praise. Yes, song loudly with hands upraised. Just one snappy, upbeat praise song a day.

My yoke is easy and My burden is light” Matthew 11:39

“I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and be glad.
O magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!” Psalm 34:2-4
