Praise Monday – Blessed Are They

Spread the love

“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12

“He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me” Psalm 50:23

What better way to look at a Monday and start a week than by praising our God?

The Beatitudes – there is little one can add to this great teaching of Jesus’. He outlined a road map to find hope in any situation life finds you in. This teaching isn’t something I had typically remembered as verses to call to mind when times were difficult or the darkness descending. But, as I focus on these words the past few days, I realize these words really should be our battle verses. What is more defeating to the enemy and those arrayed against you than the Lord’s promise in each ‘down’ time noted. The ability to look at the valley as an avenue to the mountain changes your life and those you touch. Being the Beatitudes in our world would be a game changer – seeing others through this prism would be an eternity changer.

Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” Matthew 5:2-12

““Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you, sing praise to your name!” Psalm 67:4
