“Thy Will be done”
Maybe some of the hardest words to truly pray to God. “Yes, Lord, in good, bad and even the worst times, Thy Will be done.”
These are the ultimate words of surrender. When the souls can come to this level of surrender and acceptance, he finds peace. Lived “Thy Will be done” life is one of full peace and joy. It might not be happy, but here will be joy.
I read this song was written by Hillary Scott in a time of trial. She had lost a baby in miscarriage and was struggling with the age old question to God – “why!” Trust me, the question of ‘why?’ is not always the happiest or nicest question a soul asks of God. Personally, I know that when my daughter was first diagnosed with lupus, before the illness really struck, I angrily asked, demanded of God, “why?”
As in this song, I slowly came to realize the peace in surrender to “Thy Will be done.”
