Praise in every day

Spread the love

“Greatly astonished and unable to understand the meaning of this, I heard a voice within me saying, I change such hard work of yours into bouquets of most beautiful flowers, and their perfume rises up to My throne. From then on I have tried to drain the potatoes myself, not only during my week when it was my turn to cook, but also in replacement of other sisters when it was their turn. And not only do I do this, but I try to be the first to help in any other burdensome task, because I have experienced how much this pleases God.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 65

Festivals of Praise are truly awesome and incredible. Such a great time to lift our hands and voices in praise and thanksgiving to our Majestic God. But, a Festival of Praise is only one evening, what about the other 29 days of the month?

Every action and every word, every thought needs to be lived as an offering of praise to our Lord. “whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him….Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your man, since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:17,23-24

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says to “pray without ceasing”, that seems such an impossible request from St. Paul. But, in fact, this is a very realistic task to complete, if we make our daily day our prayer offering. Whatever we do, we do for God. We all have jobs and tasks each day that we have to do, like it or not. And, when the pressure is on and everything seems to be coming apart, our prayerful movement through the task brings glory to God. Like St. Faustina pouring the potatoes in paragraph #65, when it seems most impossible, if we offer up our task to God, He will give us the grace, strength and wisdom to complete it for His Glory.

When we offer our actions to God, success is a byproduct but not a necessity. We glorify God but our prayerful actions, succeed or not.

He asks more from us than a song with raised hands, He wants our full life to sign His praises.

“O inexhaustible treasure of purity of intention which makes all our actions perfect and so pleasing to God!” Divine Mercy in my soul # 65

“I will not allow myself to be so absorbed in the whirlwind of work as to forget about God. I will spend all my free moments at the feet of the Master” Divine Mercy in my soul # 82

But, not forgetting about the upcoming Praise Nation Festival of Praise – Saturday night October 17th starting at 5:30. At St Albert the Great in PGH – 3198 Schieck St Pittsburgh, PA 15227
