The word “praise” comes from the Latin word meaning “to extol, to honor, to bless.”
In biblical terms, to praise God is to give Him glory for who He is and what He has done. It’s also an act of worship that acknowledges His supremacy and sovereign rule over all. Psalm 150 is a great example of the many different ways we can praise God.
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty firmament!
Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his surpassing greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with clanging cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
My heart sings praise of Him Who has done so much for me. All the ways God has touched my life, now and eternal, how can I not give Him praise?
What The Road of Faith is comes from this heart of praise. I can’t hold back the joy within my heart at all the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost has done for me, in me and through me. I know where and who I was – I know what God did to pull me out of that life – I know what it cost Jesus to come find and rescue me from myself. HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING?!?
Let your hearts sing praise! Let this praise flow from the depths of your spirit. Give praise and praise more.
