“I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: “Jesus, I trust in You”” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 327
How often do you ask for forgiveness and seek God’s Mercy? Do you trust and believe it is given each time you ask?
For many years I begged God’s forgiveness in prayer and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, but, I would always walk away feeling unforgiven. It wasn’t God Who failed to heal my wounds in forgiving my sins. No, it was my lack of trust that He would be willing that I carried away. The guilt of what I had done and how many years I had turned my back on God weighed upon my soul too heavily to let go. I knew God is omniscient, and knowing everything, He knew what I had done and where I had been. I had commuted the one sim that was unforgivable – I blasphemed against the Spirit. I turned my back to Him time and time again until my heart was so hardened I couldn’t feel or accept His Mercy.
“Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” Matthew 12:31
Then, one day, I walked into the confessional. I knelt before God in Father Reardon and said, “forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. I want this to be my first true confession…” Father never hesitated or missed a beat, he stepped me through a life’s confession. He broke down every barrier and chipped away all the hardened pieces of my heart. Until, all that remained was a bleeding heart and soul breathing. Alive!!
“whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19
Take advantage of the promises of Jesus given to the Catholic Church through St. Peter – that of freedoms though the Sacrament of Confession. And, the promises of Jesus is the Divine Mercy.
Spend time every day before the Image of Divine Mercy – the Image of the Merciful Jesus – and let His Divine Mercy overcome your roadblocks and hard heart to build trust that what He says IS real and true.
You are forgiven!!!!
“Tell souls that from this fount of mercy souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great, there is no limit to My generosity.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1602
“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.
For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.” Psalm 86:12-13
