One of these days..

Spread the love

One of these days, we will all stand in judgement for all the words we spoke and actions we’ve taken.

What will you say? I already know. I trust in Jesus. My blessed Savior and Lord.

“Today the Lord’s gaze shot through me suddenly, like lightning. At once, I came to know the tiniest specks in my soul, and knowing the depths of my misery, I fell to my knees and begged the Lord’s pardon, and with great trust I immersed myself in His infinite mercy.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 852

the greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My mercy; [urge] all souls to trust in the unfathomable abyss of My mercy, because I want to save them all. On the cross, the fountain of My mercy was opened wide by the lance for all souls-no one have I excluded!” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1182

Be without fear not doubt, brothers and sisters. For, even if sins be as scarlet (#699), the Lord’s Divine Mercy is great enough to overcome. All you need to do is trust in His Mercy.

Trusting in His Mercy isn’t waiting until the end of life, like the thief on the cross. Though, the Lord will grant mercy to the contrite heart even in this last moment. Trusting in God’s Divine Mercy means turning back now in repentance for any and all sins you have ever committed. It means that even in current sinfulness, turn back to God immediately, seeking His Mercy.

For me, I’ve seen such a change on how I view sin. Things that weren’t sinful years ago, I now see as sins separating me from God. That also means that as once I may have sinned and not asked forgiveness, mostly from ignorance of sin, now by knowledge of my wretchedness, I draw closer to Divine Mercy.

Sound strange that in sinfulness. One could draw closer to God and understand Mercy better? Not really. Awareness of my sinfulness just makes more more aware of my need for a Savior. The knowledge that I need Jesus to be my Savior draws me to His Divine Mercy. As I draw more into Divine Mercy and nearer to God, I realize my sin sooner and turn faster back to God.

So, while once I didn’t repent from ignorance, sooner I learned to confess and ask for Mercy in the Sacrament of Confession. And, as I continue to draw closer to God and better understand His Divine Mercy, I turn back to God immediately upon recognizing a sin. Someday, I pray that I will be close enough to God that I will recognize sins and turn away before I commit them.

Do you turn to God for mercy? Don’t avoid the Sacrament of Confession but don’t wait til you’re in the confessional to repent and beg God’s Divine Mercy.

So, one day when you stand before the Just Judge, you may feel, “I have sinned without number”, but with a life of proof, you’ll be able to say, “Jesus, I trust in You.”

Oh, if sinners knew My mercy, they would not perish in such great numbers. Tell sinful souls not to be afraid to approach Me; speak to them of My great mercy Divine Mercy in my soul # 1396
