“I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!” Luke 12:49-50
The Lord came to earth to set His creation ablaze. He didn’t come just to say hi or heal some sick people who would die years later anyhow. He came to start a fire.
“when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8
As we look forward in the coming weeks, we see The ‘baptism’ the Lord spoke of as His Passion looms larger. The days are racing toward us in which we will walk through His horrible passion, all the taunting, beating, scourging and crown of thorns. We will watch Jesus carry His cross, our cross, through the streets and up the hill. We will witness again the death of crucifixion that we ourselves called for through our sins.
I look forward in the times to come and wonder as well, if when, the Lord returns He will find any faith remaining upon the earth. Mind you, if there is not even one faithful person remaining upon the face of the earth, Jesus will still return. His return will be marked with Judgment not Mercy. “He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1146
It is for this reason and truly the greatest mercy of God, the Father that I believe we will face and may now be facing, our own “baptism.”
“let us strive to know the LORD; as certain as the dawn is his coming, and his judgment shines forth like the light of day!” Hosea 6:3
Those of us on the Road of Faith must stand against the world’s sinfulness just as Jesus did in His days on earth. We must stand with courage against the leaders of the world to call out their sins. We must speak the truth in love to our fellow man, even if that truth leads to our own martyrdom.
Several years ago, while studying the end times in scripture, I received this message from the Lord. “My son, a sign when My return draws near will be clear to all. A splitting of people’s along lines. There will be no gray any longer. All souls will have two choices, to stand with Me or against me. No more middle ground or half options.”
I look around and see this throughout the headlines, among peers and even fellow Catholics. The lines are drawn and becoming clearer each day. The choice is clear, no more ‘cafeteria Catholic” options. Look at how society is now. There is no room for rational discussion, you are either with the liberal, Marxist leaders or you are to be outcast and attacked.
As a holy priest has told me (paraphrased to fit this reflection, “the roof is becoming steeper, it is becoming more difficult to stand strong without falling from the central pillar that is Jesus Christ.”
The Lord is making it clear. “for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon after to speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is for us.” Luke 9:39-40
Now is the time, everyone must get off the fence and make a choice. Will you stand with Jesus Christ against the tide of the world? Or, will you conform to the ways of the present culture?
“when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” If I am still standing and breathing, my answer is, “yes, Lord, You will find at least one man of faith.” Road of Faith, stand with me. The time is now! With Whom will you choose to stand?
“Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.”” Genesis 18:32
Excellent post! It’s a message that needs to go out to all who have one foot in the world and one foot in the kingdom of God.
“Now is the time, everyone must get off the fence and make a choice. ” Indeed!
