“On His robe and on His thigh He has a name inscribed, King of kings and Lord of lords” Revelation 19:16
“…until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, and this will be made manifest at the proper time by the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kind and Lord of lords’ 1 Timothy 6:15
“Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed upon Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” Philippian 2:9-11
So many today want to call Jesus their friend, and brother. While this is true, one can never lose sight of the fact the first and foremost, Jesus is King. Not just a king, but THE King of all kings. In the end, all other rulers will be conquered and He alone will reign supreme as King and lord of all the earth. Believer or not, all people, all creation will bow before Jesus as King and Lord. All will give homage deserved to Jesus. Those who won’t allow Him into their lives before this day will still bow to Jesus as King – not as joyously as those to whom He is King of their lives.
In Revelation we see the Kingship of Jesus made manifest. Revelation 5 shows the Lamb, Who is Jesus, is the only One is all creation who can open the scroll containing the judgments of God. And in chapter 11, we hear the voices of heaven proclaiming that the Kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of Christ and that He will reign forever.
Jesus gives a promise to all souls. “Before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy” Divine Mercy in my soul # 83 Even in His Divine Mercy, Jesus is King.
We surrender and commit to follow one King, Jesus Christ. Now and forever. I am so uplifted to see people who consecrate Jesus as their King. Poland has given reign over their nation to Jesus as their King and you can see that when you visit this nation. I never saw Jesus as my King until I recognized His Divine Mercy and completed my Consecration to Mary. She led me to see her Son’s Merciful Heart which cascaded to surrendering my life to Jesus as my King. He does still come to me as my most trusted friend and even in His Kingship, His yoke is light. Once I saw Jesus as my King, something clicked in my soul. If God is King of all kings, King of creation and my Father, that makes this my inheritance. I am the son of the King. I have royal blood in my veins. This realization washed out the lies the enemy put in my head that I was unworthy. I am not unworthy, because the King anointed me!
Surrender to Jesus as your King now. He isn’t a demanding Lord. Anything He asks of the soul, He gives the power to complete. He never leaves His people unequipped, unarmored, or unprotected. Jesus the King empowers and exalts the soul which surrenders to His Kingship.
I can only imagine when the ‘proper time’ comes and we witness Revelation first-hand. I won’t need to bow before my King on that day, because I already bend my knee and proclaim Jesus is King and Lord.
Yes. He is my King but also my best friend.
