Oh my God, what can I do to offer my heart more fully to You – what can I do to give myself in all ways to Your will? I humbly kneel before You asking strength that in all I do today I glorify You on earth. Lord I need You, Lord I love You, Lord I praise You, Lord I worship You….Lord I love You!! Mary Immaculate as I kneel beside the cross with you, protect me and pray for me and most especially for those I love most all those past, present and future I give to your loving patronage.
Do you desire to give every aspect of your life to God? Don’t worry if you want to but can’t seem to actually do it. God is working always in your life to train you. There is nothing He won’t do nor is capable of doing to protect and guide you from all the arrows of the evil one.
But, what do you do when you struggle? What do you do when the child you raised and love doesn’t want to give their heart to God? These battles are all to real for many of us. We desire to follow God but find so many battles within our own life and heart. These battles are difficult to overcome and we want badly to give all our heart to the Father. What about those we love most who we raised to know God but don’t want to give their life to Him? Maybe don’t even want to talk to Him? How can they know Jesus if they won’t even talk to Him?
The answer is simple but not easy. We must trust these loved ones to their Sacraments. Their baptism and confirmation have marked them with the sign of God – they are the armor that can defend them even when they don’t see the defense. Dear friends of ours told us this in prophetic prayer, “you must trust them to their baptism.”
We are human and want to take action and make them see and love God. But, God Himself won’t make someone love Him if they don’t want to.
God will bend all creation to open their hearts to feel and see Him. There is no limit of His love when it comes to the hearts and souls of His children. So we as parents must pray now and forever for their hearts to be opened. We can take opportunity of course when it arises to talk of God, and always live the life we want them to see – a life centered on the God we love. But, we can never force our hand or faith.
“No! It’s my responsibility that they know God and get to Heaven”. Yes, in a manner it is but all we can do is love and pray. Think – who loves them more – God or you? Who has more power and patience – God or you? Who knows the next steps on the Road of Faith – of course it is God.
So trust His love and trust in Him. And, trust them to their baptism.
