Merry Christmas to all my Road of Faith brothers and sisters!
Veni, Veni Emmanuel!
I rejoice daily for each of you, you have blessed my life this past year beyond measure. My prayer for each of you is that all the peace of the presence of Jesus Christ be fully and superabundantly be with you. The peace and joy of the newborn in swaddling, the suffering servant upon the cross, the body lying in the tomb and the resurrected glory rising to Heaven.
“Merry Christmas”
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.” Philippians 4:4-5
The Lord is very near this morning as He bends the Heavens to come to earth. We have the opportunity this morning and forever more to look upon the eyes of our God and Savior.
Christmas morning’s event is a game changer. It literally changes everything. Worldly, our calendar changes in recognition of this moment, so many world changing blessings have ‘paid forward’ from this manger. But, bigger than all He accomplished within earthly time, Jesus blew the spiritual doors off of history.
None could expect that the greatest of Kings with the greatest of messages would be born in such a humble place and invite the most humble of people to come to Him first. The shepherds were the first to hear of His birth and the first invited to this manger throne. It was only then that the “three kings” would lay gifts at His feet.
Jesus lies this morning in a small manger overshadowed by the cross, a stranger and greater vehicle of rejoicing. Let us not forget that the greatest gift of our God isn’t the manger nor even His healing miracles or teaching words. His greatest gifts rests at the other end of His life. The end of the life of this baby but the opening of the gateway to our true and eternal life.
The resurrection of Christ was God’s supreme and wholly marvelous work(Saint Augustine)
So, on this Christmas let us rejoice in the Lord. After all 2020 has thrown at us and through all the attacks of the secular and atheist culture in which we live, REJOICE!
O come, Thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
HAS come to thee!!
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17
There are so many verses in the Bible that I could pull to remind our souls to rejoice. But, today only two words are necessary to convey all the joy within every Christian heart. Two words that encompass the full meaning of the Father’s message throughout the Bible and all time…
“Merry Christmas”
Beautifully said on this joyous occasion! Merry Christmas!
