I chose YOU

Spread the love

Jesus spoke to me as I sat here this morning reading His holy words. In prayer, I asked the Lord, “why me, Lord? What do I have to give to You?” He replied, “I have everything I need, it is you I want.

God, on the other hand, is not dependent on anything or anyone. He suffers no lack, knows no limitation, and experiences no deficiency. He is “I AM THAT I AM,” with no qualification or exception (Exodus 3:14). If He needed anything to stay alive or to feel complete, then He would not be God. God does not need us.

But, amazingly, He loves us passionately, and in His goodness He wants us to live with Him forever. So, 2,000 years ago, God Himself put on flesh, came to Earth, and gave His very life to atone for our sin and prove His deep love for us. He paid the ultimate price to reconcile us to Himself.

God shows how much He wants US in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Why would God pay such a high price for something He didn’t want or value?

Within the Trinity there is nothing lacking. In His Trinitarian nature, God is completely complete. He is everything and has everything needed. He lacks nothing.

This marvel me ever more as the sun rises this morning. God wants me to be near Him so badly that Jesus came to earth and died for me. He died a death beyond what man can truly put into words or imagination. He suffered all sin upon His pure soul for me.

Again this question comes to my heart, “why me? I have nothing of value to give to You Lord.”

Jesus again answers, “I chose you because I want you.

God chose you before creation came into being. He created everything in creation for you alone. Look I got the night sky knowing that view of the stars is for your eyes alone. No one else can see it exactly as you do. Look at the people and world around you, no one can experience it the same as you.

God wants you in His ‘life’ because of pure love. God wants you so much that He climbed on the cross for YOU.

Today when you look at the sunrise or sunset or rain or sky or people crossing you path, think about the fact that this ‘view’ is from God and all for you.

Today when you read the Bible, insert yourself into it. God wants YOU.

“For God so loved you that He gave His only Son, that when you believe in Him you should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 – italicized is my changes.
