Lovely Lady dressed in blue
Teach me how to pray!
God was just your little boy,
Tell me what to say!
Did you lift Him up, sometimes,
Gently on your knee?
Did you sing to Him the way
Mother does to me?
Did you hold His hand at night?
Did you ever try
Telling stories of the world?
O! And did He cry?
Do you really think He cares
If I tell Him things ——-
Little things that happen? And
Do the Angels’ wings
Make a noise? And can He hear
Me if I speak low?
Does He understand me now?
Tell me ——-for you know.
Lovely Lady dressed in blue ——-
Teach me how to pray!
God was just your little boy,
And you know the way.
Ever since the first time I heard Arch-Bishop Fulton Sheen say this poem on his show, I loved it. Such a great thing to remember to speak to our Mother to get her to show us how to pray.
Mary is a great advocate of prayer for us, the best. As our loving Mother, Mother of God and Queen of Heaven, she will take all our needs and prayers and add her beauty and voice to our prayers. We simply need to ask. But, has the thought of coming to Mary to teach us to pray occurred to you?
Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help, is ready to not only intercede with prayers to her Divine Son for us but if we ask her she will also take time to teach us how to pray. Her first lesson is the Holy Rosary. This prayer is an incredible lesson in how to pray as well as how to draw closer to Jesus.
When we pray the Rosary, we reflect upon the life our our Lord as witnessed by our Blessed Mother. She asks us in Fatima, Medjugorjie. every time she has appeared, pray, pray, pray!
Want to be victorious like our Queen? Pray like she does. Imagine her ‘prayers’. She sits and talks to her Son, intimately and personally. Just sit at His feet, look into His Holy eyes and talk to Him. Jesus is always listening and He gets it.
