Things look pretty bleak out there. There was rejoicing when Roe v. Wade was kicked out by the Supreme Court but look now as states enact laws and amendments that make abortion on demand more prevalent. In Ohio, babies can now be aborted up to birth which is almost as liberal as California and New York. Drugs that full the mind and spirit are legal in states. Governments are in control and tearing the money from people’s wallets and hearts from their chests.
The ‘four horsemen’ appear to be riding across the globe with diseases, famine, disasters and war. Yet, the media distracts everyone by calling on slogans like ‘trust the science’, pointing at climate control or blaming racism.
Catholics are truly under attack now unlike any time possibly in history – both from within and outside the Church. Christians are being marginalize more each day. True faith is being forced into hiding.
Hope vanishes.
“Truly, truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but your pain will turn into joy.” John 16:20
What? Wait! What do I hear? The whisper of the ‘still, small voice.’ Shhh. Listen.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
Hope doesn’t come from the headlines or the government or anything in the world. Hope comes from Jesus Christ. Period. Drop the mic on that and walk off stage.
Jesus warns and prepares us for moments in history like this. John shares His words in His Gospel, warning us that we will weep and mourn but also reminding that our tears will be turned into joy.
‘Jesus, I trust in YOU.’ In these days when the media throws out their misdirections of climate and calling the murder of innocents ‘healthcare’, we need to make this our mantra, ‘Jesus, I trust in YOU!’
“By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.” Hebrews 11:3
We can’t see or foresee the path through the darkness in these days. But, we can GUARANTEE that the Light of the world is before us. We can guarantee that it is God Who is in control and is the Victor, not the world.
Hope comes from Jesus Christ. Hope is Jesus Christ.
‘Jesus, I trust in YOU!’
