“And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” John 3:19-21
We look around us and are tempted to see only the darkness. We see wars and state violence, terrorism, political assassinations of good people, school shootings piling up one after another, hatred spewing from our media and government, evil movies and games, and the continuing scourge of abortion – so much evil. We see all this as demonic activity which it is. These are the end times and we see Satan getting antsy as his reign draws to an end.
We are terrified of the darkness. Something built into our systems as littlest kids.
But, we need to open our eyes and see the Light overcomes all darkness. Sit in an utterly dark room and flash a very small bulb on, the darkness recedes. The darkness is weak and succumbs to a hint of light, not the other way around. Where there is light, there can be no darkness.
Stop looking for the darkness’ encroachments, start seeing what God is doing. Yes, the enemy is desperately trying to play all his cards. But, God is playing His hand as well.
A hope filled movie on St. Maximillian Kolbe came out last Friday – ‘Triumph of the Heart’, ‘The Chosen’ and ‘House of David’ are leading many back to the Bible. The Blessed Mother has come to our world in apparitions more in the last century than in all the years since her assumption combined. The young are returning in droves to the old ways in the Catholic Church. Contrary to belief, the Church is growing every day by a lot.
The 100 year anniversary of the devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is coming in weeks. Many say this is why Satan is so desperate and piling up the attacks. He knows his 100 year reign is collapsing and ending soon.
The evil will fight always and to the end, but, we who know, know the Light of Jesus Christ is triumphant. We just need to start seeing what God is doing – His loves are more subtle than the enemy’s but no less prevalent or powerful. That was the whole overlying premise of my book – God IS present and active now in our world. Just look.
Raise your eyes and see all the Lord is doing.
