Life’s Dark Tunnels

Spread the love

I recently watched a little kid standing in front of a short tunnel. The boy had a look of hesitation on his face to say the least. The tunnel was made of formed bushes and ran about 30 feet in length. But, by the look on his face as he gazed over at dad, it could have been a deep, dark mine miles long. Dad coaxed and encouraged him to step in, guaranteeing not only that all would be ok, but, that dad would be waiting on the other side when he came through. The boy looked over doubtfully, took a breath the steel himself and charged in. When he came through the other side, as promised, dad was waiting with a proud smile and a hug. The boy was grinning with joy both that dad was there and of his huge accomplishment.

Many times, we face these challenges and obstacles along our Road of Faith.

Life is full of ups and downs. You inevitably will be faced with moments in life that seriously challenge you. These dark moments can leave you feeling frustrated, scared, and broken. You might start to lose some of your faith in God.

However with God, your biggest setbacks can become your biggest comebacks. With God, you can move from being a victim to being a victor. With God, you can navigated the deepest and darkest valleys of life and walk high on the mountain.

As a Christian, it’s important to not let the obstacles in life tear you away from your faith. Instead, these are the moments where you need faith the most. If you are find yourself standing before a tunnel or within the darkness of the tunnel, don’t give up. Don’t run from the challenge. Like this little boy, look for God the Father on the other side, know without doubt that He IS waiting. Press through, reach out looking for God. Call upon God’s name. He is there right beside you and standing on the other side, ready to welcome you through that challenge.

“I am the Lord, the God of all mainkind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27

When faced with an enormous obstacle, don’t focus on how big the problem is. Focus on how strong God’s power is. He is much more powerful than any obstacle you will ever face! Shift your perspective to God, gain the confidence in Him to know you can handle it with God’s help. God will help you knock down that wall in front of you. He will be and always is there as your strength and biggest fan.

Be like this boy in front of the tunnel, look to God, draw power in His Gaze and move forward, always forward along the Road of Faith. No matter the tunnels or mountains or other impassable obstacles. At the end is God waiting as a proud Father for you to overcome. In His arms again, you’ll see that big scary tunnel was really small.
