“All those souls who will glorify My mercy and spread its worship, encouraging others to trust in My mercy, will not experience terror at the hour of death. My mercy will shield them in that final battle …” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1540
The knight is a protector of the innocent and weak. They are willing, honor bound to stand for those who can’t defend themselves.
To win any battle, you must have the right strategy, resources and support. You must know your enemy. Victories don’t come by accident.
A knight would prepare by spending the night before the battle in a church. Kneeling before the altar and more importantly, in front of the Lord in the Tabernacle. His armor and weapons spread out before him as he prayed over them. Realizing some battles can only be won by fasting and prayer, the knight began the engagement before even donning his armor and joining the ranks.
Even before the eve of battle, the knight must prepare through practice and exercise.
In the USAF, we regularly conducted exercises and situations to mock-up real life scenarios we hoped would never occur. In flight we would conduct drills. We practiced land survival. We had base wide exercises mimicking an attack. All this wasn’t just to play. Everything done was to make reactions natural. In the heat of an actual event, one doesn’t want the mind’s fear to overcome the body’s habits. When the mind finds comfort in “been here, done this” the fear ebbs to the background.
It works. We had events occur in which we reacted before thinking of what was happening. And we succeeded and thrived – in one instance, our drills saved our lives.
As a knight of THE King, we need to prepare all the time for the battles to come. The war is already engaged. Like the men and women who enlist post 9/11, we are full aware that joining this army, we WILL go into combat. Be prepared! Practice! And trust that our General is better than any who ever ran a battle plan.
Practice and drill?
Pray in times of peace and rest. When attacked, you will naturally fall back in prayer.
Read the Bible. This is not just the battle plan but the victory as well.
Trust the Lord. Trust in one’s leadership is paramount to an army’s success and victory. Many stories exist of armies overcoming great odds through simple trust in their leader. And, make no mistake, our Lord knows how to win this fight. He already is victorious.
Prepare everyday and expect the fight to come to you. Then, let the preparation take over and be victorious.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:10-11; 13
