“When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, “Woman, here is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.” John 19:26-27
“Mary is the safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way of approaching Jesus and will surrender themselves to her, body and soul, without reserve in order to belong entirely to Jesus.” St Louis de Montfort
Moments before Jesus died, He gave Mary one more special task. He gave us Mary as our mother. Just as Mary cared for Jesus, she wants to take care of us by helping us grow in holiness. She stood at the cross and witnessed not only the horrible death of her Son but Deicide – the murder of our Lord God.
Fr. Michael E. Gaitley, author of 33 Days to Morning reminds us that “it’s Mary’s great God-given task, in union with and by the power of the Holy Spirit, to form every human being into “another Christ,” that is, to unite everyone to the body of Christ and form each person into a fully mature member of His Body.”
Lean on our Blessed Mother in these times. If you’re in fear, she understands how you feel and will hold you close through the fears. Mary our mother, is united fully with the Trinity and will intercede for you.
I’ve seen Mary standings over the earth, holding all souls close within the mantle of her protection and love. She walked the path of her Son’s passion and In this unique lent, she is right there with us, keeping the role Jesus asked her to fulfill from the cross. She will not let us be without support. Her Son loves her and will deny her nothing that is within His Divine Will. Lean on Mary and Trust in Jesus.
‘I belong totally to you and all that I have is yours, I take you for my all. O Mary, give me your heart’
St John Paul II

“In trial or difficulty, I have recourse to Mother Mary, whose glance alone is enough to dissipate every fear.” — Saint Therese of Lisieux
