In one day, the disciples of Jesus saw Jesus multiply five loaves and two fish, feeding five thousand until they were satisfied. Jesus fed the people on this day with a feast of both food and word. Then, Jesus sent the disciples home across the sea. A storm fell upon these fishermen, beating against them. THEN, they looked into the crashing waves and wind blown rain and lightning to see Jesus walking across the water, on the water towards them. Peter stepped out to walk to Jesus. But, his fears and doubts came crashing in like the storm and he sank. Jesus rescued him and helped Simon into the boat. Then, Jesus rebuked the storm, commanding it to cease. And, it did. – Matthew 14:12-33
Wow!
Any one of these events would have been overwhelming. Even to these men who had seen so much already would have been awestruck.
Have you ever witnessed God working in your life? Seen or heard Him crystal clear? Moments like this don’t happen often but they do happen in every believer’s life. Maybe not walking on water but Jesus does make Himself and His power known.
You must be present in the moment. Jesus will cause your hunger, then feed you. He will allow you to go into the storm that your faith may be tested and confirmed. And, He will come to you in the darkness. He will sit beside you in the boat within the storms of your life, comfort He will be to learn trust. And, when needed He will stop the storms.
The more you ‘see’ these moments for what they are, the more you will be able to recognize these moments.
