I was once something else…once you’ve met Jesus AM is all that matters. It doesn’t matter who you were, only the Jesus chose you. That’s all that matters. ‘Am’.
God is ‘I AM’ and tells us in His Divine Mercy that who we are, who I am now is all that matters.
I am a horrible sinner. If you knew who I was, you’re cringe. If you knew the sins I’ve committed, you’d run. I have committed sin that would make your blood freeze. Though I still commit sins, I am not who I was.
People want to define us because of our past but we do things differently because of Him. Though we may still fall back to old ways, we are something different now that we’ve encountered Jesus. Nothing can change the fact that we are changed.
Don’t let the enemy and his kingdom try to define you for your history. Now that you’ve met Jesus, your life is His story.
We see back at the story of our lives as just that, the story of how we moved from who we were to who we are designed to be. Like a growth chart for your child, it shows where we were and how much we’ve grown. Even if that growth is minimal since last measure.
Look forward to whom God designed you to be, see who Jesus is making you now. And keep moving forward.
