“And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and inside. Day and night without ceasing they sing, “Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God the Almighty, who was and is and is to come.” Revelation 4:8
At His throne, the highest choir of angels sing perpetually of the glory of God. Day and night unceasing praises surround God. All the hosts of angels in Heaven sing praise of God’s glory.
And, how do the highest of the Church Triumphant react? They throw down their crowns at the foot of God’s throne and shout His praises. These crowns are given them by the King of kings as reward for the work they did, and it is nothing compared to praise due God.
“And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to the one who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall before the one who is seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:9-11
Nothing we possess in this life comes close to the crown of glory we will receive when we come to the Father’s Kingdom. Yet, like the elders, this great treasure will be as naught to the praises we will desire to raise to God.
The answer to ‘how to praise’ starts where Heaven and earth come together – the Holy Mass. in this moment, we have the opportunity in the Liturgy to praise God with all the angels and saints. The joys of praise can be carried through praise music, especially that of Praise Nation PGH. Praise needs to always be a part of our prayer life. Every prayer needs to be focused on praising God.
