Hope in Mercy

Spread the love

“we boast in hope of the glory of God. And hope does not disappoint” Romans 5:2

It is in tough times, that in our hope God acts.  I walked through a dark valley as many of us have, but through it I can say I always maintained some glimmer of Hope.  Reading my journal reflections of those days that I think of as so dark, I see hope coming through in thoughts, scripture notes, prayers and in reflections from and on the diary of St Faustina.  Hope surrounded me even when I was in ‘darkness’

We need to always remember that we don’t stay at Good Friday.  We see the cross and the darkness of the death of Jesus but God had the last word. And so we too move from Friday’s sorrow to Easter glory.

I have certain hope that God is faithful and His grace is poured upon us in His Spirit.

Read the story of the meeting Jesus had with the Samaritan woman.  In this story, God shows His grace at the most unlikely place, most unlikely time and to the most unlikely soul.  He came in the heat of the day, to an ‘enemy’ town and spoke to a Samaritan and woman at that. All things that seem so unlikely. But, He walks her from sin to light as He does for each of us.  He exposed her sins and then instead of judgement, He gave her to drink from the living water, Divine Mercy.
He came to me that Saturday morning in Confession. He came to a man who had fallen and denied His words and trust, He came in a dark night to a sinful soul. He spoke words of mercy and love. He didn’t judge, He loved me and poured His Divine Mercy over me in Oceans of Mercy. He sent His Holy Spirit to call me back to life and like Lazarus I have waned from the dark grave to glorify Jesus.

I beg all to know this gift of the Father, that is His Divine Mercy through His Son in the power of His Holy Spirit.  Know with certainty that He is waiting. Come to the well, drink of His Mercy and hope. I guarantee He won’t disappoint.
