Jesus told St. Faustina, “The smallest act of virtue has unlimited value in My eyes because of your great love for Me.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1489
Honor comes easy but there comes a day that the man must face challenges.
“that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable,” 1 Thessalonians 4:4
Honor: honesty, fairness, or integrity in one’s beliefs and actions
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3
How we live our lives within this world are so very important to how God sees our works. Someday we will stand before our God in judgment and He will decide if we’ve lived with honor.
Honor means to hold all others above yourself. To hold oaths purely.
We honor our spouses by living the Sacrament of Marriage above even our own lives.
Honor is acting when the Lord calls. As St. Joseph showed in Matthew 2:13-18. “Then Joseph[a] got up, took the child and his mother by night, and went to Egypt.”
Honor is acting with courage and standing up for God and the faith even when the world demands otherwise. Look at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the Book of Daniel, chapter 3. The world demanded they make worship to an idol or die. These three men held to their faith despite all risks. They stood with honor before God.
Someday, we will ALL stand before God the Father to answer for our lives. We need to turn to Jesus with humble hearts seeking to live lives of honor. If we seek this life, Jesus will cover our sins and failings in His Divine Mercy. If we strive to live a life of honor, we will live Jesus’ commission and on that day when we stand before the judgment seat, many souls will stand in witness of the life we led. For our life will have led them to Heaven, even if we didn’t actively lead them there in words.
