“Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them….But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.“. John 14:23,26
The Holy Spirit is within us. Jesus promised He would send an advocate Who will make all things clear to us. For me, this in dwelling of the Holy Ghost came upon me as Jesus said just before this promise. In John 14:20, the Lord told His disciples, “On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.“ This is the moment of realization for me. The a Holy Spirit led me through the darkness and unknown in those months of my trial and cleansing. Where He led me was to the truth that was always right before my eyes; “On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.”
I can not ever put into words what this indwelling of the Holy Spirit did to me. But, my wife and friends and anyone I meet Pays the price of that effort. They will all tell you how much I speak of what the Holy Spirit did to me, to for me. I struggle to hold back when I start speaking of how He touched me.
I am not afraid to have people look askance at me or judge me for my love of God. I often struggle to hold back my heart. The words of His effect bubble up within me heart but always what comes through my mouth feels lacking. How can I ever convey this incredible experience that is God?
My book, my words, my prayers, my reflections in this blog, they all fall short of what I desire to say. And, any that have touched another soul in my inadequacy do so from the Holy Spirit only. The words I’ve said that have touched another I attribute fully to the Holy Spirit. From Him, I say the words, and from Him, the soul hears them.
I knew this the moment I thought of writing “I Knew His Voice”. I’m no author, I had no clue how to even write a book. Not to mention just how to put it all in writing. And, second, how would I publish it and who would care to read my writings. But, I felt a strong push to do it anyway. So I prayed, “Lord, if You want Your story told, give me some clear sign”. And, I instantly heard “I knew His Voice” in my heart and knew this to be the title. This is the whole story in just four words. These are the words of my daughter after Jesus’ first visit, these are the words that summarize my months of peace, these words are what occurred to me when I came from my dark night and these are the words I prayed everyone would realize as they read this story. Every word I typed and every time I tell this story comes from the Holy Spirit. This book would seem to move with its own life, if one wasn’t aware of the Holy Spirit. But, no doubt the Holy Ghost has guided the book to every hand that bought and read it. The Holy Spirit has guided us to every location that we’ve been asked to speak of the story. All for tremendous riches; riches beyond all the combined treasures of the world. Every soul that stops for a moment after reading this story to ponder upon the fact that God is real and God is present and active today is a pearl worth all the treasures of Heaven.
The Holy Spirit guided my words to say exactly what He wanted in “I Knew His Voice”. And then He moves it along through writing, editing and publishing. The Holy Spirit has guided the book to souls who needed the hope within and has given me the ‘different” ways to tell the story when I stood in front of crowds so that a specific soul could be touched and open to Himself. So many souls have heard the “knock” of the Holy Spirit upon the doors of their heart through this miraculous story. And, I pray that one more soul come to see God is right there with them in their darkest hour as well as on the brightest day.
Whether it is “I Knew His Voice” or my words or my reflections posted on The Road Of Faith, this is His story to tell. I pray only to be His voice to one more soul.
