Halloween – At The Name of Jesus

Spread the love

“”Let us alone! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down before them, he came out of him without having done him any harm.” Luke 4:34-35

Many exalt Halloween as a day of evil, demons, witches, pentagrams and curses. Sadly, in today’s world this includes many more than just covens and Satanists. We dress are children as being of evil and even Satan himself (though we try to downplay him with tail and pitchfork).

We need to dig into the absolute power of Jesus over all evils, over all demons and even over Satan. We see the fear the demons hold of our Lord.

Philippians 2:9-10tells of this power “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Emphasis mine)

Today is not a day of celebration of the world’s feast day. Today, I challenge each of you on the Road of Faith to take up the power that Jesus gave to each of His followers, in His Holy Name and through the serpent crushing power of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, cast out the demons of your life, those which are surrounding and attacking you and those already within. At each portal (window and door) of your home, with Holy Crucifix in hand, pray the Jesus prayer and prayer to St. Michael. If you have holy water and blessed salt in your home, spread it over the thresholds and around the property line and foundation. Defend you home, family and soul.

“See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you.” Luke 10:19

Jesus Prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel:

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

O glorious prince St. Michael,
chief and commander of the heavenly hosts,
guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits,
servant in the house of the Divine King
and our admirable conductor,
you who shine with excellence
and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil,
who turn to you with confidence
and enable us by your gracious protection
to serve God more and more faithfully every day.
