Greatest Fear

Spread the love

What is your greatest fear? Losing a job? Family illness? The ‘deep state’? World war? Death? All very valid fears for sure.

Sitting here this morning, I ponder this question. The answer comes quickly to heart and mind. Of all the things that could befall upon me, only one stands out.

“”Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord”, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only one who does the will of my Father in heaven.  On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?” Then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.”” Matthew 7:21-23

I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:33

My biggest and only true fear is that one day I will stand before God, looking into the eyes of Jesus, and He will not know me. That my life and sins will have been enough that God would not welcome me but cast me out.

Terrifying! FEAR! False Expectations Appearing Real.

I stand tall (or maybe more likely, I fall to my knees) trusting in the Divine Mercy of God. Jesus’ promises through St. Faustina, the Bible and more give me trust that despite all I’ve done or failed to do in life, Jesus’ Divine Mercy is more.

Look into the mirror and see your fears. Then, know two simple facts. #1 God is God and Supreme #2 God is Mercy. No matter how big your fears may seem, God is infinitely bigger. Oh, and never forget that God created you to know Him and be with Him – for eternity. Trust then in His Divine Mercy and love. In this truth, all fears wash away.

“Jesus, I trust in You. Jesus, I trust in You. Jesus, I trust in You.”
