The Spirit Makes You Giddy

When God shows up, the soul is not only invigorated but can be downright giddy. Giddy to the point of silliness.

So many soul sadly walk through their lives not seeking God and many who seek God spend their days asking for God to ‘give a sign.’ Then, complaining because they don’t ‘see’ Him doing anything. None knowing or seeing God’s active presence in their life – at that and every moment.

This is one reason I wrote “I Knew His Voice.” My family had a faith experience that words can’t capture. I tried to put this story into my book because I felt God’s desire that His children know He is truly with them always. Not just with them, but, actively moving in and around their lives, guiding their souls along the Road of Faith back to His side.

A big reason for putting our personal story out there for all to read is that everyone see that Jesus IS alive, and present in our world. He is working to make all things work for the best in your soul.

Unfortunately, many think of Jesus as just someone from a book or a thing those religious zealots believe in. They don’t truly see Him. He is there regardless. Of those who know Who Jesus is, just like the two disciple on the Road to Emmaus, most don’t ever open their eyes and hearts enough to see Him walking beside them.

But, for those of us who have witnessed God’s presence, it is an incredible experience and joy. The soul is so uplifted with the realization of God’s close proximity or by seeing His hand in action before their eyes.

Sometimes though, the Spirit really shows up. His presence overwhelms the soul. The reactions can be wildly varied but, many times Connie and I find ourselves giddy. We are so filled with the joy of His presence that we feel like little kids seeing the gifts with their name under the tree.

Yesterday’s ‘Faith on the Road’ post from Resurrection Catholic Church is a great example of this reaction. Both, Connie and I have been praying for a focused intention lately. I have been moved to start a group for those men and women of faith who RV to build a faith community. I woke at 6AM with a strong idea of toward this goal. I told Connie and she remembered Father Levi’s prophecy of seeing us drawing a community of RV’rs around us to praise and unite with our Lord. I had already had this thought at well. More happened the prior days than I’ll share. Then, by mistake of selection of Google Maps, we attend Mass at Resurrection. The joy of finding the Nation of Praise and this fantastic worship leader was incredible. We knew God’s hand was active in leading us here. We knew the Spirit was present in our hearts as we lifted them to God in Mass. As we discussed all the events and ‘sensation’ we received during the Mass, praise, my long talk with Gabriel and our walk through the outer garden, we were joyous. The recessional song was “God You Reign.’ When we finally got to the truck and I started the engine, the song just coming on XM radio was..yea, ‘God You Reign.’ Giddy is the only word to describe our feelings.

First off, know beyond a doubt that Jesus Christ will always keep His word – “I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20. He will always be near to you, protecting and guiding you.

Second, open the eyes of your heart and your physical eyes and ears to see and hear Him. Sometimes, only a totally blind and deaf soul could miss seeing or hearing Jesus. Ask God to heal your deafness and blindness. “I want to see.” Luke 18:41

Start seeing and hearing Jesus around you. Then, open your heart to the joy of His presence near you. Let that joy overflow – let your soul free – be giddy.
