“O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples. Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wonderful works.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually.
Remember the wonderful works he has done, his miracles”. Psalm 105:1-5
As my first Thanksgiving Day Road of Faith blog post, I certainly have so much to be thankful for. As my friends and I say, “God is good, All the time. And, all the time, God is good.”
2020 may seem like a year of struggle to so many, it does seem to have a dark shadow upon it. But, I have to praise and thank God for His greatness and presence. Through this year, God has graced me with 423 posts and reflections. Every time I’ve wondered what the next reflection will be, God has filled in with His guidance and provided me with a thought or even a series. Several of these really impacted someone in particular at a critical time for them. I have linked up with The Cross of St. Benedict (crosses and BOOMs) and PraiseNation PGH.
The Road of Faith continues to grow and touch souls but none more than my own. I ask each of you to pass the Road of Faith along to all your friends and ask them to subscribe. If you’re viewing on Facebook, go to www.THEROADOFFAITH.net and subscribe.
This year due to the quarantine, I have been on a sort of retreat with my wife. We have spent more time in prayer, reading spiritual works and of course, the Bible. Our prayer life is increased greatly. God continues to guide, direct and manage our lives as He leads us down the Road of Faith that leads directly to Him. The steps He’s taken us down have sometimes surprised and always marveled us.
Reflect today on the great things God has done in your life both through this year and back to day one. Start with the day of your birth – that day when you first saw God for Whom He really is and can be in your life. Look beyond Covid and through the lenses of God’s eyes in those dark days that have occurred. Everything is for a Divine plan. That plan is meant to take us one step further down the Road of Faith.
Then, lift your eyes and hearts to give praise and thanksgiving to the Trinity in all His glory. Give Him thanks for calming the storms He settled and carrying you through the storms He didn’t calm. Thank Him for the great and glorious mountain peak experiences in His presence.
Start today on this Thanksgiving by giving thanks to God for being God and knowing all. Rest in His grace and glory. Trust in His Divine Plan. If at times you find it difficult to step outside of the boat, then at least, trust in His Divine Mercy.
I pray all the Road of Faith community and your loved ones have a blessed and very happy thanksgiving.
