“To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.” 1 Corinthians 12:8-11
There are many gifts the Holy Spirit can bring upon a soul. But, to me I believe the guts of faith is the seed of all the gifts that God gives to His children.
Without faith, how can one see or accept gifts within their lives or those displayed around the soul? Without faith, the Bible is just a book, even the words in red lose meaning.
Faith grows belief – Faith builds trust – Faith opens a soul to the reality that is God. A soul can go from unbeliever to “Is God real?” to no doubt of God IE surrender and trust. Faith helps the soul through troubling and rough times.
“The Lord replied, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” Luke 17:6
I reflect back on the past eleven years and all the struggles with my daughter’s illness. Those initial dark days in the hospitals and ICUs were overwhelming. How did I survive the worst? Faith. I can’t imagine how I would have managed one day let alone everything without the sincere faith in God. Even in days that my faith my have been weak, just a little faith was enough.
Jesus asks you, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Can you honestly and fully respond, “Yes, Lord.” Matthew 9:28
