From Whom Does Mercy Flow?

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately contemplating Divine Mercy, as I always do. But, over the past months, I’ve found myself often perplexed by the tough of Who is Divine Mercy? From Whom does it come and to Whom should we turn in pleading for this Divine Mercy.

I settled in this morning with my cup of coffee, Bible and copy of ‘Divine Mercy In My Soul’ thinking of this question. Leaned back, sipping my coffee, I watch the sun break the horizon. “God, help me understand from Whom, Who should I look for Divine Mercy?”

God is the Father and author of all things, Jesus gave us the message of Divine Mercy both upon the cross and through St. Faustina – He suffered to deliver this message – and the Holy Spirit is the breath of Mercy. I turn in prayer and am confused to Whom to turn.

And, like that sunrise brightening the dark sky, God gives light to my mind in this thought. Into my thought pops the Creed. Followed by John’s Gospel, then, Jesus adds His words.

Divine Mercy comes from and through the Blessed Trinity. The Father, Son and Spirit are inseparable in their actions of Mercy. They are totally united in Mercy, meaning that as a whole, They in the Trinity of Self are Divine Mercy and are Mercy itself.

God answers my question this morning, saying, “Divine Mercy comes from Me.” Easter is right ahead, meditate upon the source of Divine Mercy through the Passion and Easter season (and forever ahead).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people.” John 1:1-4

“I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made…. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets…”

The Father and I are one.” John 10:30. “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth” John 14:16-17
