Found and Lost

“What do you think? If a shepherd has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.” Matthew 18:12-13

I was found and now I’m lost.

I was lost for many years, the Good Shepherd came through my darkness searching for me. When He ‘found’ me, more truly, when I finally opened my ears to hear His call, all Heaven rejoiced and a shout of joy went up from all the hosts of Heaven.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

So, if I was found what do I mean by “I was found and now I’m lost”? Does this mean I’ve fallen away and wandered from God again? Absolutely not!

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

The more deeply I find Jesus and learn to Trust in Him, the more I find who I truly am. And, the more I find this fact to be true, the more I lose myself in Him. “I am a child of God!”

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
