We often tend to blame others or our circumstances if we don’t move forward spiritually. More so, we set the blame on others and circumstances for holding us back.
We say we don’t have time to pray because I have too much work to do, I can’t move forward because I have no spiritual director, Covid has kept me from the church and moving closer to God. And so on.
But, if we truly believe God is God and that God is our Father in Heaven and that He has everything in His hand – We trust Him, then, we know there is nothing that can hinder us on our Road of Faith. In fact, we know without doubt “that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28
Jesus gives us the perfect example of this in His life on earth. The Pharisees, rejected Jesus as Messiah and despised Him for calling them out. They did many things to try to discredit Him to the people as the Messiah. Yet, these very men who resisted and killed Him were the very same ones who led Him to His goal which was of course, the cross. In God’s hands our very enemies and the worst of circumstances benefit us most.
Perhaps you believe that if a certain circumstance would go away, you would find peace and be able to pray and draw close to the Lord.
God uses all things for good. God is good and love. God is mercy. God is so good that even the most vile evil is turned to good in His hands.
For a long time, I prayed and I knew that if things were different and my daughter were healed of Lupus, I could be closer to God. But, God has shown me that through the trials to which I was subject, I was drawn to greater heights of understanding and trust.
Are you going through a difficult time now? Is there someone who is an outright thorn in your side? Pray through these circumstances and for these people. Thank God for they are vessels He is using to build you up for His Kingdom and your sanctification.
““My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
