“I felt today how greatly a certain dying soul desired prayers. I prayed until I felt she had died. Oh, dying souls are in such great need of prayer! O Jesus, inspire souls to pray often for the dying.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1015
We regularly pray God’s mercy for those in Purgatory. Today, we are going to join with St. Faustina on The Road of Faith to pray for the dying.
With confidence we come to the Mercy Seat of the Father. “Lord God, we beg mercy and Your Presence at the side of all who are dying or will die today. They need you most of all in the world at this moment. Be with them and give them Your Divine Mercy. Set a Seraph guard at the gates of Hell to prevent dying souls from falling into blackness this day. Draw all dying souls today to Your side. We pray, Mother Mary, that you answer the moment with your assistance at the hour, this moment of death to escort these souls and present them as beautiful gifts to your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.”
“At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the pardon is the same. When this chaplet is said by the bedside of a dying person, God’s anger is placated, unfathomable mercy envelops the soul, and the very depths of My tender mercy are moved for the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 811
“Pray as much as you can for the dying, pray that they may put their trust in My mercy, or they are the ones most in need of trustfulness, but have it least of all. Know that for some souls the grace of eternal salvation will depend at their last moment on your prayers.” Divine Mercy in My Soul # 1777
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
