Festival of praise

Spread the love

“Tonight’s the night, for the sinners and the saints, two worlds collide in a beautiful display” City on Our Knees by Tobi Mac

“If you gotta start somewhere, why not here, if you gotta start sometime, why not now”

Yes, tonight is the night! Praise Nation is ‘Coming Home” for an evening of praise and worship to our King and God. There is nothing more spectacular than the church of God lifting your its voice in praise to our Lord.

A Festival of Praise is your opportunity to let go of all our fears, stresses, concerns and inhibitions and raise a joyful song to our Lord. “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises. Sing praises to the Lord” Psalm 98:4-5

You don’t have to be a musician to lift praise to the Lord. Trust me, I am far from any musical talent, but, I know when I lift my song to the Lord, He smiles with joy.

Several years ago, during Mass, my son nudged me and politely said, “don’t sing so loud.” I smirked, looked at the Tabernacle and replied, “God gives all things and commands all things, if God doesn’t like my voice, He has the power to change it.” So far, He hasn’t which leads me to confidence that He loves even my off pitch praise. By the way, now my son is an accomplished musician who played in symphony orchestras and is now a music teacher – he has perfect pitch. I don’t have pitch at all haha.

But, I know this doesn’t bother God. So, tonight and at every Festival of Praise, Emmaus event and Mass, you will find me singing unashamedly my praise and joy to God.

Through Emmaus, many men have learned the power of praise. Many of us are about as musically talented as I am. But, bring 40-60 men together singing in full voice to God, the choirs of angels have Holy envy. Ever hear 60 men singing as one to God? Powerful and emotional are understatements for sure. We can fill a room with a rolling thunder that can bring tears of joy to one’s eyes.

We don’t have to be talented vocalists to praise God. We can lift in one voice our praises and God transforms our noise into an angelic harmony.

So, come tonight to St. Albert the Great Church at 3198 Schieck Street, 15227 (event will be live streamed on Facebook and www.praisenationpgh.org). The Festival of Praise will begin at 5:30, weather permitting.

Join the song! “I would like to cry out to the whole world, “Love God, because He is good and great is His mercy!”” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1372

Join us tonight and look for me. Let’s join together in prayer and praise!
