“In the evening, I heard these words in my soul: My daughter, know that I shall speak to you in a special way through this priest so that you may not yield to doubt concerning My wishes. Already in the first meditation my soul was struck by the following words of the priest: I must not oppose God’s will and God’s designs, whatever they might be; and as soon as 1 am convinced of the certitude and the authenticity of the will of God, I have the duty of carrying it out. No one can release me from this. Whatever the will of God may be, once I have come to know it, I ought to carry it out.” Divine Mercy in my soul # 1101
What is “doubt?”
To doubt is to lack faith, and to lack faith is to lack trust in the perfect revelation and plan of God’s Will. First and foremost, a doubt, resulting from a lack of faith, means you are not listening. When we doubt God, His plan and all that He reveals to us, we are left on our own.
But when we listen, hear, understand and believe, we are covered in the protection of His Mercy on account of the faith that we manifest. Faith means that we know with certainty all that God says and wills. Faith is not just believing in something we hope is true, it’s knowing and believing all that is true.
Doubt can come to the best. Mostly I’d think the greatest risk of doubt taking hold is in times of struggle. It could be the critical moment or chronic drawn out situation. The key is what a soul does in that moment when doubt creeps in. Does the soul linger on the doubt and let it grow like a cancer until it destroys the soul? Or does it turn in trust and faith to Jesus and His promises? Does the soul trust God?
In the moment of doubt, the soul can leap forward in faith and become invincible, wrapped in this faith.
Have you faced moment(s) of doubt? Be honest. In that moment did you lean upon God? If you did, your faith has become more powerful. If not, turn now and trust Jesus.
