Faith on the Road – St. Michael’s – Gibsonburg, OH

Spread the love

Saint Michael Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

St. Michael Catholic Church located in Gibsonburg Ohio in the Toledo Diocese. This is my wife, Connie’s home parish. A lot of history within this church of nieces baptized and receiving the Sacraments. Weddings and funerals. This is a nice Catholic community within this small farm town. One of the strongest Catholic women I know is a very active parishioner within the church – my mother-in-law.

This is a great little Catholic Church that I’d highly recommend visiting when nearby.

St. Michael stands in guard to the right side of the sanctuary. He was stored for many years in the basement where he suffered water damage and wood rot to his wings. When he was found, the church asked my in-laws to restore the statue. My father-in-law hand carved new wings and sword, my mother-in-law repainted him. Now St. Michael stands again in a position of honor.

I happen to be in Toledo this week and when I’m on a new town I sclick on my Mass app to find a church for morning mass. This trip I went to Our Lady, Queen of the most Holy Rosary – I was in awe of the size and scope. Anyway God bless you in-laws Ed, safe and blessed travels and may you haveva Happy Thanksgiving.
